Dining at the Berlin TV Tower – Sphere Restaurant by Tim Raue with 360° Views
The Sphere Restaurant in the Berlin TV Tower offers a unique experience at 207 meters above ground: enjoy regional and international cuisine with a spectacular 360-degree view over Berlin. Starting in June 2025, the newly designed “Sphere by Tim Raue” awaits you – a true highlight for all gourmet lovers.
Restaurant Sphere on the Berlin TV Tower
The revolving restaurant Sphere in the Berlin TV Tower offers a truly unique culinary experience 207 meters above the ground. Located on the third level of the tower in a specially designed circular space with a diameter of 29 meters, the restaurant floor—also known as the “Telecafé”—can accommodate up to 200 guests at 40 tables. Here, diners enjoy both regional and international cuisine while taking in breathtaking panoramic views of the German capital.
The highlight of the Sphere restaurant is its rotating outer ring, which is mounted on 120 rollers and slowly turns around its own axis. This innovative design allows guests to enjoy a continuously changing 360-degree view of Berlin as they dine. Originally, the rotation was set to one revolution per hour, but after renovations in the late 1990s, the speed can now be adjusted to either 30 or 60 minutes per revolution, giving guests greater flexibility.
The interior of the restaurant is separated from the stairwell by a translucent colored glass wall, created by artist Richard O. Wilhelm. Adorned with bright dots symbolizing the Milky Way, this artwork adds to the restaurant’s distinctive atmosphere. The entire sphere of the TV Tower, where the restaurant is located, covers a usable area of 5,000 square meters and features bronze-colored window bands on both visitor levels.
Guests at the Sphere can enjoy their meals in a stylish setting while taking in impressive views over Berlin and its surroundings. With 60 windows, the restaurant offers a spectacular panoramic experience at any time of day or year. The main kitchen is located at the base of the tower for fire safety reasons. Meals are transported by lift to the restaurant and completed in a small satellite kitchen on-site.
A visit to the Sphere revolving restaurant is more than just a culinary treat—it’s an unforgettable experience that shows you Berlin from a whole new perspective. Whether you’re enjoying a romantic dinner, meeting friends, or celebrating a special occasion with family, your time at Sphere will be truly memorable.
